Hi Tommy, thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. I saw your “Raw and Real” video on YouTube. It’s impressive how much you’ve overcome in your own life. I know, 5D.Fitness is your answer for helping others overcome adversity in your own life. So, we wanted to take the time to get to know you and find out more about this great organization.
Why did you decide to start the organization and what your organizational goals?
Simple. To Help Others Overcome Adversity in their lives
Can you tell me more about the what your organization actual does? I’d love to hear more about your work and the organizations program.
The organization that I founded is called 5D.Fitness and that’s the web address too. 5D stands for the 5 dimensions of Fitness. While away at the Feds, I became even more active in Physical Fitness and working out. I also became a Certified Personal Trainer and then went on to become a Master Fitness Trainer. So, Fitness is very important. With that thought in mind, coupled with helping others, I figured out that we as “people” really need way more than Physical Fitness to be whole. So, I determined there are 5 Dimensions of Fitness: Physical, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual, Financial. We must all be bit in each of these areas to reach our maximum potential in life. 5D.Fitness is being designed and developed to be a resource for this with a network of professionals in each area and, there’s a portion of the site and program set aside for our children called “Kids Korner”
What kinds of people does the organization serve? Why would someone seek out 5D.Fitness?
The organization serves anyone who needs help or guidance. Anyone who wants to feel better about themselves and those around them. In today’s society and the pandemic running its course through everyone’s lives, 5D.Fitness is a resource to be used to help people focus on what’s most important, themselves. So each person can be well rounded and the best they can be.
What results does your organization hope to achieve?
A person that feels better about him/herself and can focus on growth instead of being stagnant and always living in constant complaining
Do you have any long term goals for the organization and are there any barriers that are in your way?
Long term is to grow this organization to millions of subscribers because our areas include such a broad spectrum, we can and do appeal to basically everyone. Barriers, sure mainly limited resources and ability to get things done. I have an amazing team I work with that basically works for free in hope to fulfil my vision of helping others for the greater good. We have been fortunate to receive enough donations to get to where we are today. We still are letting all memberships be free to everyone at the moment, until the content is adequate. So, we are relying on people to go to the site and donate what they can. We are a 501c3 and everything donated is fully tax deductible.
How is the organization funded?
Through donations of money and time
Can you tell me about your leadership team?
Sure, I have a super team. 5 additional people. Dr Reverend Philip Clemons is President and CFO as well as Director. Melissa Morris is a Director and VP of PR/Marketing and sits on the board of several other non profits. Karen McDougal is a Director and VP of Communications, our spokesmodel and former covergirl who has a very broad reach to a diverse group of people. There’s Wes Upchurch that does the tech and website development and maintenance. And, then there’s Eric Holder who is our VP of Digital Strategy. You can see each person’s in depth bio by visiting the site. http://5D.Fitness
What are some of the organizations strengths and where does it need improvement?
The strength lies in our mission and the team helping to fulfill that mission. We need improvement in everything we do. This whole organization is about helping people grow. We are people as well and I’d be lying if I said that the organization and our team members didn’t need to continue to grow. Lead by example. We are all just normal average people that are human. So, we need improvement everywhere in all areas. Recognizing this is the key, in my opinion
With regards to you, personally, what do you spend most of your time?
Lately, I spend my time recovering from the latest spinal surgery and PT. Working with my team members on the non profit (5D.Fitness), my for profit mktg/mgmt company, Tommy Malone Jr LLC, my 9 year old daughter, Kennedy and of course working with others in recovery because I must give back that which was freely given to me.
Since, I’m speaking to Tommy Malone, Jr, I’ve got to ask… who is Tommy Malone as a person?
A person of average intelligence with a desire to create and implement something that makes a mark on peoples’ lives and the world in general. I have been through tons of struggles in my life as can be seen on my video “Tommy Malone Jr: Raw Real” on my tommymalonejr youtube or the videos section of 5d.Fitness or tommymalonejr.com. All the things I share that I have been through, I share not to try and impress with a sob story but to impress upon you that I am someone who has been there and come out the other side. I am just a normal dude living life to its fullest. Keeping a positive mindset is the key for me and it can be for everyone else too. I start my day each day by writing a list of the things I am grateful for. This gratitude list removes my thoughts from what I don’t have and all the negativity to the positivity of what I do have.
